Bugaboo Buffalo Review

December 15, 2017 by Jo

Bugaboo is known for its luxury all terrain strollers that normally have unique features and the Bugaboo Buffalo isn’t any different. This stroller comes with a matching bassinet and it is an everyday stroller that has been designed for those active parents who are constantly shopping, running errands, and heading for walks in the park.

Bugaboo Buffalo - baby

Tires

The tires are foam filled and shock absorbing that is able to handle all sorts of terrain which gives your little on a smooth ride. If you have to deal with rough terrain such as snow or sand, then you are going to love the two wheel mode. Not to mention that it actually has a pretty narrow frame that makes it great for using inside of stores. It also has some pretty nice features such as adjustable handle bar, large basket, one handrecline and a reversible seat as well as the large canopy that comes with this bugaboo model. You can use the seat from ages 6 months up to 50 pounds. If you are wanting to use it with your newborn, you simply switch out the seat for the bassinet and you will have a growing stroller to match your growing little one. This unique feature will turn your stroller into a beautiful pram which is quite stylish and keeps you going. You can also use it as a travel system by getting the infant car seat adapter.

Ease of use

When you start looking at the functionality, you are going to notice that Bugaboo really decided to make it easy by making all of the functional sections of this stroller white in color. Even if you did not read the instructions, because let’s face it as parents we hardly have the time to, you can figure out how to easily adjust any of the parts of the stroller.

Special features

I love the innovative and amazing design and features. There are a few downsides that could use a bit of improvement such as adding an adjustable leg rest, adding a peek a boo window and automatic lock. The canopy does also sit much lower than that of other types of strollers that are on the market. When you fold it up, it is pretty bulky, but because it has all terrain type of wheels, it is something that anyone can easily overlook.

Bugaboo Buffalo - both pieces

Price

Another thing that many people may have an issue with when it comes to the Bugaboo Buffalo is going to be the price. This model is designed for parents who have plenty of money to spend. If youare looking to get this stroller, then you are going to be spending around $1200. Now it does come with the matching bassinet, bumper bar, and rain cover. If you are looking for a child’s tray and cup holder, you will have to purchase those separately. Now let’s get into a bit more detail about this stroller.

Canopy

Bugaboo Buffalo Canopy

The huge canopy is a great plus. Bugaboo finally listened to the complaints about the canopy issues. The Bugaboo Buffalo has a canopy that is three panels that has an additional zipped panel. It is quite huge and it covers the bumper bar. It will shade your little one during any time of the day and the canopy will still be attached to the back of the seat and it does not convert into those nasty floating canopies. Even though there is not a peek a boo window, the canopy size has really increased.

Handle Bar

The adjusting handle bar is another great feature as it goes from 36 inches to 44 inches from the ground. This is the longest extension for a handle bar within the Bugaboo line. What is nice is that it has 2 small hooks that are on the handle bar that you can hang your diaper bag on. It can handle up to 13 pounds of weight on the handle bar. This is one feature that is unexpected but quite nice.

Strap

It also has a run away strap which means that if you happen to lose your grip on the handle bar, your stroller won’t get away from you. This is a great safety feature to have on any stroller. The strap itself is not that long, so it is definitely worth the thought.  It also comes with a reversible seat. You can reverse the seat by pulling on the white levers to unlock the seat and swing it around to put it in place. You can use the one hand level to recline the seat into 3 reclining positions in both forward facing and rear facing. Because the seat is one piece, it will keep its V shape when it is reclined. The canopy and seat materials are machine washable which make it great to clean for spills and messes.

Harness

It also has a 5-point seat harness. This harness can be adjusted easily and has a center release buckle that you will have to push on both sides to be able to unlock it. You won’t have to rethread the harness and it is easily adjustable. You just have to move the clip on the strap down and up to the right height. This is perfect because you can do it on the go without having to take your little one out of the seat to do it. It also comes with the bumper bar which also works as a carrying handle for the bassinet.

Basket

It has a large basket that can hold up to around 22 pounds and is actually easy to access. You can fit a large diaper bag and your purse in it. Another great thing about it is that it has a large elastic pocket where you can put your smaller mom items like Tylenol, keys, and wallet in. It does come a red foot pedal brake. Truth is, it is not flip flop friendly at all.

Warranty

Another good thing about the Bugaboo Buffalo is that it has a 3-year warranty from your purchase date but you will have to be the original owner. It also comes in black and sand base colors with 6 canopy colors of off-white, royal blue, petrol blue, pink, red, and black and the frame base for the stroller is silver.

Overall, even though this stroller has a steep price tag, you are getting what you pay for and that is quality.

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco review

October 18, 2017 by Jo

If you have more than 1 child, then you know just how hard it could be to walk around and run errands with them right next to you. The Room For 2 stroller has been designed to really work great for those parents who have 2 children that they need to care for. The unit has 2 seats – a front seat and a rear seat. Each seat can hold up to 50 pounds. The front seat is able to recline in multiple positions which include fully flat for nap time. If you have an older child, then you are able to place them in the rear seat which is padded nicely for comfort. Alternatively, the child can also stand on the sturdy platform if they want to have a bit more fun. Additionally, the double tandem stroller is compatible with the classic connect and click car seats for the infants.

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco-02

Folding ability

This a single hand folding stroller that has 3 simple steps that you can follow. The unit folds and then locks quickly to make it easier to store and transport. The swiveling wheels also have suspension mechanisms that make it easier to move around. They can also be locked to ensure better stability when you are going over uneven terrain. The design makes it pretty easy to set up and takes less than 10 minutes to put together and it doesn’t need any special tools. It also takes up very little space within the your car during transport or in your home during storage. If you don’t know how to lock it, unfold it, or set it up, as there is a really in depth manual that will help to guide you through the whole process.

Sun Shade

This Graco stroller comes with a sun shade that covers the front seat. This helps to give shelter to your child, which keeps them safe from the scorching sun. The front canopy is small and doesn’t have a back flap, which helps to ensure ventilation when you are out and about. You can also adjust it depending on the position of the sun. This helps to make sure that your little one is well protected from the sun. It is also important to know, that the sun cover only covers the front seat. So, you are going to need extra sunblock if you are going to have both of them riding in the stroller and try to keep the one in the back shaded. This helps to ensure comfort for your kids as you move around with them on a sunny, hot day.

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco-01

Harness

The front seat harness is a 3 to 5-point harness while the rear seat is a 3 point harness that can be adjusted to whether the child is standing or sitting. The two seats also have adjustable crotch straps, while the front only has a single position for the shoulder straps. The harnesses are easy to put on and take off. The buckle is easy to release and connect which makes it easy to unstrap them in an emergency.

Nuna Tavo

September 12, 2017 by Jo

NunaTavo or what is known as the One Click Wonder is very similar to the Nuna Mixx2 model but it is much cheaper and more compact than other models. Although it doesn’t come with a reversible seat, you can turn it into a great travel system when you are using the NunaPipa car seat without having to use additional adapters. All you have to do is just click the car seat into the frame and with the update for 2017, it is still the same way.

Nuna Tavo 1

Nuna Tavo Overview

Similar to the Mixx2, the Tavo has a deep one hand recline that will almost go completely flat which is a great position for those newborns.

Nuna Tavo 4The seat is pretty roomy and works for children up to 50 pounds. I love the canopy as it is a large canopy that has a pop out sun visor and for a bit of extra protection it even has a hidden dream drape that will protect your little one from the sun when the seat is completely reclined. There is also a peekaboo window that uses magnetic closures and it has a zipped mesh panel that provides your little one with great air circulation.

The Tavo also comes with and adjustable handle bar, flip flop friendly brake, adjustable leg rest, bumper bar, all wheel suspension, and easy to access basket. I love how easy it is to maneuver. You can easily push this stroller with one hand and when you fold it up, it is very easy to do and quite compact. The stroller will collapse into itself and will lock. All of these features fit into a package that weighs only 24 pounds, which is lighter than the Mixx2 model. This is a daily stroller that you can use for long walks in the park to running your daily errands in town. The wheels are the perfect size and can easily tackle various types of terrain that you have to deal with.

Nuna Tavo 2

This is a great stroller that I can easily say is my go to stroller. It goes from Newborn to toddler age and it has a roomier seat and the canopy is higher up than on other stroller models.

When you look at other reversible seat strollers, you notice that they have smaller seats and low canopies that are not that comfortable for a squirming toddler. The Tavo really has growing room and it is a very affordable price of under $350. That is a great deal. The Nuna quality really states well made and solid products. The fabrics are always durable and soft. You will never get the flimsy and plastic type of feel from any of their products. The only thing that I could think to change about this stroller is how heavy it is. For being a non reversible seat stroller, I believe that 20 pounds would be a much more reasonable weight for this particular stroller.

The Nuna Tavo comes in 4 different colors and does include the bumper bar. For an additional $300 you can get the stroller with the NunaPipa car seat.

Nuna Tavo features

Huge canopy

It has a huge canopy. The canopy is quite larger and has the pop out sun visor that is called the dream drape. This visor will give your little one plenty of coverage even when the seat is fully reclined. What I like about it is that it is made from a knit fabric that it provides plenty of air circulation while it blocks the sun. When it isn’t being used, you can just zip it back up. It also comes with a mesh peekaboo window that has magnetic closures. Out of all the strollers that I have tested, this canopy is the best one that I have come across.

Nuna Tavo 3

Adjustable Handle Bar

It also comes with an adjustable handle bar that ranges between 42 inches to 38 inches from the ground. It works well for me and my partner.

Roomy seat

Then you have the roomy seat. The seat is over a foot wide and has a 19 inch back and there is over 25 inches from the back of the seat to the canopy top. The seat works for newborns to 50 pounds. That means that you can use this stroller through your infant and toddler years without any real issues. You can remove the fabric on the seat and wash it in your washing machine. I love the material quality that was used on the canopy and seat. It is very durable but quite soft at the same time.

Bassinet

It can also provide a bassinet type of environment for your little one by lifting the leg rest up and using the hidden material under the leg rest to enclose the sides of the stroller. Just clip the material to the frame of the stroller. Then fully recline the seat and your little one will have a safe and cozy place to take a nap or a rest in. If it is a bit chilly, then you can throw a warm blanket on top which creates a unique cozy and warm napping area.

Nice Basket size

It even has a pretty large basket. The basket is perfect in size for my purse and diaper bag and it is quite easy to access simply by bringing the fame of the basket down. You can access the basket even if the seat is fully reclined and there is even a zipper pocket that is great to store small items such as keys, wallet or phone.

I really do not have anything bad to say about this stroller. The only thing I didn’t like was that it is a bit heavy for being this type of stroller. If you look at other model types, they all weigh about 20 pounds. This weight limit is normally found on those models that have reversible seats.

Nuna Tavo Wrap Up

Overall, this is a great stroller and it is perfect for a growing little one. Since it can also be used as a travel system, that also makes it a bit better. It has color options and a lot of great features that will really bring this stroller to the top of my list.

Nuna Mixx

July 4, 2017 by Jo

Get ready for the hottest stroller on the market right now. If you have been looking for a stylish reversible seat stroller that has a large basket, compact, isn’t heavy and has all terrain wheels then this is the stroller for you. The Nuna Mixx has all this and then some. It is a full size stroller that comes with all terrain wheels and a reversible seat.

Nuna Mixx Overview

The Nuna Mixx is a car seat stroller that provides swivel wheels for maneuverability. It can be folded and easily placed in the trunk, being a compact stroller is great for a new baby or toddlers. It also has a sun canopy for sunshade. However, if you are needing a jogger stroller, the Nuna Mixx may not be for you.

It has a pretty sleek look to the buggy and has a really roomy seat. It also has a deep incline, adjustable handlebar, adjustable leg rest, reversible seat, flip-flop friendly brake, and a no-rethread harness. The basket is also huge. I was able to fit 2 large diaper bags in there as well as my purse. Another one of my favorite features is that since it has a deep incline, I can lift the leg rest up and recline the seat flat so I can let my little one nap in comfort. Another thing about the Mixx is that it doesn’t have that V shape seat that keeps your little one in the sitting position. The seat works from newborn to 50 pounds. There is even a large canopy that has a pop-out sun visor which keeps your little one protected from the glaring sun.  It is a premium stroller like the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 and the Stokke Xplory.

Nuna Mixx_2

You can even use this stroller as part of a travel system simply by replacing the seat with the Nuna Piupa car seat. It doesn’t have any other adapter for other car seats, which is kind of sad.

You really can’t fold this stroller with one hand, but it is really easy to fold and is quite compact for the type of stroller it is. Not to mention, you can actually fold this one up with the seat attached. There is also an automatic lock and you can roll it around like luggage. It also only weighs 25 pounds.

This is a really great stroller, but it isn’t quite perfect. The price is a bit steep at $500, but that is kind of reasonable for a luxury stroller. It glides easily over any bumps and uneven surfaces. I was able to maneuver it easily with 1 hand while it was loaded down.

Nuna Mix Features I love

The canopy

It has a really large canopy which I love. It is a 3 panel canopy with a pop-out sun visor. You can even zip up the middle panel to make it much smaller. It also has a peek-a-boo window that is made from dark mesh which gives your little one more air circulation on those super humid and hot days while you protect them from the sun. It also has a magnetic closure instead of Velcro, which is much quieter so you don’t have to wake up your little one.

Nuna Mixx

The handlebar

I also love the adjustable handlebar. There are three different positions and it goes to about 42 inches from the ground. It is also covered with rubber instead of foam which tears easily, even though it feels super nice at first. Foam just makes you have to walk around with a luxury stroller that is missing some pieces of foam on the handlebar. I think the rubber does it a lot of justice. It is still comfortable to grip.

Reversible seat

The reversible seat comes with a 1 hand lever recline. It has 5 different reclining positions including completely flat. I love that I can put is completely flat and lift the leg rest up so my little one can take a long nap in a bed like environment. Not to mention using the flat recline for a diaper change, which is great for a quick diaper change.  You can flip the seat around easily by pushing the levers on the sides and swinging it around to put it in place. You can also replace the seat with the Pipa car seat which is great for the first 6 months after birth when your little one is mainly in a car seat. The seat fabric is also machine washable. It also comes with a 5 point harness that is padded and eventually can be converted into a 3 point harness. The leg rest has 3 positions it can be in.

Storage basket

It also has a huge storage basket. If you are a shopper, then you will love the basket. It can fit just about anything that you put in there.

Wheels

The wheels are never flat rubber wheels that have front swiveling wheels but they can be locked to go straight. This is literally an all terrain stroller, so it can handle just about any surface you take it on. It also has all wheel suspension, which absorbs the bumps to make the ride for your little one so much smoother.

Rain cover

Another interesting feature about the Nuna Mixx is that it comes with a rain cover. That was quite awesome and it is something that I do carry around with me. It is great for that unpredicted weather when I am out with my little one.

What I don’t like

The only things that I do not like about the Nuna Mixx Stroller is that it will only work with the Nuna Pipa car seat. It would be so much better if there was actually an option for it to become a travel system by using other popular infant car seats. It doesn’t come with accessories. There is actually a very limited amount of accessories for this stroller. The bumper bar and rain cover are about it. There are only 3 colors to choose from. I am a very visual person, so there isn’t a lot of colors to choose from. It would be a bit better for me personally if the fabrics were more colorful with interesting designs and even some patterns. It comes in three colors, Mykonos ( a blue-ish color), Caviar ( a black color) and Slate ( a gray-ish type of color). I have no idea who came up with the interesting color names, but in truth it comes in blue, black or gray. The frame only comes in silver.

The Nuna Mixx does come with a 2 year warranty from your purchase date and you have to be the original owner.

If you’re looking for a competitor to the Nuna Mixx, try the UPPAbaby Vista.

Bugaboo Bee Review

June 27, 2017 by Jo

If you have been searching for a really great Bugaboo model to take your little one out in, then you can’t go wrong with the Bugaboo Bee. I personally prefer the Bee 3, which is the third generation of Bee models that happens to be a super lightweight stroller that comes with a reversible seat. Not to mention you can get even more use out of the Bee by turning into a pram by getting the bassinet that goes with the model. This is great for those parents who only want to purchase just one stroller. You are able to use the pram for the first 6 months, and then go straight into the seat, or you can even turn this model into a travel system by using an infant car seat instead of the regular seat.  Another popular Bugaboo stroller is the Bugaboo Cameleon.

Bugaboo Bee Overview

The Bee 3 was designed for urban parents, where you are constantly on the go. It is perfect for traveling, just running a daily errand or even using on public transit.

Bugaboo Bee 3

I happen to love the fact that it comes with a really large basket that I can pack a lot of stuff in when I go out shopping. Since the frame is super narrow which lets you really navigate tight spaces such as doctors office, elevators, or even narrow store aisles. It has an extendable reversible seat that really grows with your little one and gives them plenty of comfort. It has a really deep recline that you can do with just one hand, so that means naps are more comfortable for your little one and they are super great for diaper changes on the go. The wheels are quite small, but you can really handle it on gravel, mulch, or grass. It also has all wheel suspension that really takes care of the bumps, so your little one can ride much more comfortably. You need to keep in mind that it isn’t an all terrain stroller, so uneven surfaces could be a bit bumpy for your little one.

Bugaboo Bee 3 reclined

The Bee 3 is a really improved model simply because of the bassinet and canopy. It is still missing that peek-a-boo window that I really love, plus the basket is hard to access and it can be a bit bulky to fold.

The BEE 3 is a great on the go stroller for those busy bee parents who just want a lightweight stroller that comes with a bassinet option and even a reversible seat. Even after the unique updates that was made, it still reminds me of a wheelchair. The price didn’t get any lower either. You can get the frame with the seat for about $600 and the canopy for around $80. It comes in 8 different colors. It is still a bit on the pricey side, but when you want quality, you could be expected to pay so much more.

Bugaboo Bee Features I liked

When it comes to the features, I was pleasantly surprised. It does have some unique upgrades and even some items that are considered a part of my baby arsenal.

Huge canopy

It has a huge canopy. The designers finally listened and really learned about all the complaints about how small the other Bee model canopies were. Since they increased the canopy size, I am no longer complaining at all. It even has an additional panel that you can unzip if you want to make it even bigger to give your little one so much more coverage from the sun. The canopy will go almost all the way down to the seat. Unfortunately, there is still no peek-a-boo window.

Adjustable handle bar

It also comes with an adjustable handle bar. I love the fact that it works for both me and my husband. I am more on the shorter side while he is quite tall. I can lower the handle bar down, and he can extend it to make it comfortable for either one of us to push. This is certainly one of the best features that you will never find on the cheaper umbrella strollers.

Runaway strap

I also love that it comes with a runaway strap. This is a unique strap that is normally found on a jogger stroller. It keeps the stroller from getting away from you, just in case you happen to let go of that handle bar.

Roomy seat

It comes with a super roomy seat. The seat is almost 15 inches wide and has a back that goes from 18 to 21 inches, which is quite tall at the back. It also allows the seat depth to be adjusted. This goes from 11 to 15 inches deep. It is perfect if you are wanting a stroller that will grow with your child. The fabric on the seat is much more breathable, so it will help to keep your little one cool during those hot summer days. It also has a one handed recline level that will take it to a flat position that makes it perfect for your newborn. You can also use the reversible seat. You will have to take your little one out before you change the seat around. It is a good stroller for newborns to 38 pounds.

5-Point harness

It also comes with a 5-point harness. The harness is now 4 pieces meaning that your shoulder straps aren’t attached to the waist straps, so you have to lock each strap in separately. This is where it because a problem. If the designers have kids, then they would know that when your toddler is screaming at the top of their lungs at the mall, the last thing you want to do is deal with 4 separate straps to lock them in. This is where speed actually matters. I am literally trying to strap my little one in and get out as fast as possible. Then you have the fact that they begin to fight you while you are trying to strap them in. The new buckle is quite easy to unlock, so that means that your toddler can escape without a lot of hassle. This doesn’t work with my little one at all.

The bigger basket

It has a larger basket now. The basket got a lot larger, but more complicated to access from the back. So you have to access it from the front. That crossbar in the back still is a pain.

The wheels

The wheels are great as well. They are made of 6-inch hard rubber wheels that have front swiveling wheels that you can lock to go straight for rough terrain. This stroller was mainly designed for flat surfaces and it doesn’t handle terrain to well, but it will work in a pinch. It also has all wheel suspension, which helps to absorb the bumps which make the ride a bit smoother for your sleeping little one.  It has a parking brake that you can use simply by pressing on it. I learned the hard way that it isn’t flip flop friendly.

Easy to fold

It is easy to fold. The thing is that you actually need both hands to fold it up, but it easier to do now. You can even do it when the seat is attached. It is a bit bulky, so it will take up a bit of room in the trunk, but if you have a stroller that has a reversible or removable seat, then they are often bulky. Once it is folded, it has an automatic lock on the frame and you can roll it behind you just like you would luggage. It doesn’t do a standing fold.

What about a bassinet?

It can be used with a bassinet, but it isn’t included and you have to purchase it separately. This is great for those parents who want to use a pram. You just replace the seat with the bassinet.  The bassinet does come without the canopy, because you can use the one that is on your stroller. It works from newborn to 20 pounds. The sides of the bassinet are quite soft, but the bottom is hard plastic, so you can also use it as a carrycot.

Travel system option

It also has a travel system option. You can convert it into a great travel system by replacing your seat with a car seat. Bugaboo Bee 3 will work with most popular car seats with the car seat adapter.

Warranty

Another thing is that it also has a 3-year warranty, so that is great especially for the price you are going to be paying for the stroller itself, as well as the adapter, and bassinet and even the canopy.

What I didn’t like

I don’t like that it is bulky when folded up, that there isn’t a peek-a-boo window, the basket is hard to access, and I really do not like the low weight limit. The seat only works for up to 38 pounds, which is a problem if you have larger children.

Overall, the Bugaboo Bee 3 needs some more improvements, but in the end it still is a great stroller that you can use in an urban setting.

Sit and Stand Strollers

June 22, 2017 by Jo

Did you know, not only are Sit n stand strollers maneuverable, some are rear facing and some come as a double jogger or side by side stroller, among other styles? They can have a 5 point harness to ensure your child’s safety, or a large storage basket allowing you to carry everything you need, some are even removable. Then there are the one that are fully equipped with a cup holder and canopy, these type of strollers can be great for toddlers and babies alike.

If you are like me then you may have multiple kids, and you want something that can hold all of them. I have an infant and a toddler, and I found the sit and stand stroller and I love it. Not only can my toddler sit or stand in the back, but my infant can sit up front in the smaller seat. It is a win-win for everyone.

The #1 feature I love about Sit and Stand strollers

There is another perk about the sit and stand stroller and that is that isn’t big and bulky like other strollers. You may have seen a double or triple seated stroller, now those take up a whole lot of room which most of us don’t really have depending on where you are going. You want something that is slender and can be moved around easily in different areas. The sit and stand strollers are compact as well as easy to push around.

Sit and Stand Stroller Buying Guide

The information that is provided below can help you to make the right choice for you whenever that time comes. Be sure to enjoy all that comes from your stroller that will help you to get around if you have multiple children. I made sure that I covered multiple points that can help you to pick which one will be best for your situation. You want to keep the ideas I throw out in mind, but you also need to know what you are looking for. This way you are able to pick what is best for your family.

A sit and stand stroller isn’t like a double stroller. So there will be a lot to look for when you are picking a stroller that will serve its purpose as well as easy to use. Since it has been designed to hold multiple children at different age points, it is important to be aware of the weight limit on the stroller, frame strength and the size of the platform for standing.  Check out this video to see how they work.

What you should look for

There are a lot of things that you should look for when you are trying to pick the best strollers for you and your little ones. You will need to keep in mind that some options you may not need, but making a list of features that are important to you to the least important can help you to get the most out of the stroller that you pick.

I found that there are general features that you really should consider as they will make life much easier.

Check out the size requirements

The weight and height of your little one will make a difference when you start to look at one of these strollers. This is why it is really important to consider what each of the strollers can offer. You are going to want something that will be able to hold the weight of your kids safely and comfortably.

Check to see if works with a car seat

If you happen to have an infant still in a car seat that is too small for the larger seat in the stroller, you need to see if the stroller that you pick will work with this. Check around to see if the stroller will be compatible with the child seat that you have before you ever purchase it, or if you can purchase an adapter that will work the child seat.

Check on the height

The stroller height is a big thing that needs to be considered if you are either shorter or taller than an average person. You may want to find something that will be comfortable for you when you are out and about pushing the stroller. Height can really make a difference.

Check out the safety features

Everyone needs to be safe when out with a stroller. You will want to ensure that your little one up front is going to be safe, but your older child in the back is safe as well. Check out the harness straps and if there are wheel locks. There are a lot of safety areas that a parent will need to check out on any type of stroller.

Check out the price

The price of any stroller will help you to make a choice on which one to go with. This is why picking a budget to go with and then considering the options that you want that are in the budget can help you to pick the stroller that will work for your family.

Check out how easy it is to use

The way that you move a stroller around is going to make you hate or love it. Buying a stroller that allows you to move it around easily is going to be a big thing. Ensure that you have the right stroller that has a high rating for ease of use. A stroller is supposed to make your life so much easier not harder.

There are a lot of different recommended weight and age limits for a stroller. The weight will change based on the stroller, and so just to give you an idea on what weight is good for the stroller you are looking at. Normally 4 and under and ride in the back with no problem, and those who are 2 and under need to be in the front seat. There are some strollers out there that have a bigger weight limit such as letting up to 6 years on the back. This is great if you are a big walker like I am and your little one wants to take a rest for a bit. Weight on the stroller needs to be a bit evened out to be safe. Keep this in the back of your mind when you are picking a stroller. This is why its important to check the safety requirements and weight limit on the stroller you pick for your family.

The best options for 2017

Below are some of the best sit and stand strollers that I found out right now. These are great for families with different aged children.

Caboose Ultralight by Joovey

Caboose Ultralight by Joovey-01

If you have a heavier child, you can’t go wrong with the Caboose. It is super easy to control. Unlike its rivals, it is super easy to steer around but not like a single stroller. The front seat holds 45 pounds, which is less from other competitions.

Caboose Ultralight by Joovey-02It does have a universal car seat attachment which is great if you are traveling. It has a stand on a tandem design, easy trigger fold design, and a storage basket. It also has swivel wheels that are fixed and plastic tires. The back seat is a bit small, but it is much easier to use than others.

Ultra by Baby Trend

Ultra by Baby Trend-03

If you have been searching for something on the cheap side but has what you want then you aren’t making a mistake by spending less than $150 for the Ultra. Both front and back seats will hold up to 50 pounds, which is really convenient unlike the higher priced strollers.

Ultra by Baby Trend-01

The fabric used is Nylon and the frame is a sturdy metal, it has a large basket and super easy to transport and fold up. The thing I loved about this one is that it comes with a Britax car seat that is great for traveling. Although it is a bit longer, it is very easy to fold with just one hand. The only real issue is that if you have a heavier child in front, it can be a bit hard to steer.

Ultra by Baby Trend-02

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco-01

The RoomFor2 is great if you have 2 kids. It was designed with only 2 children in mind and this sit and stand stroller is quite great for heavier children under 50 pounds each. One of the great things about this stroller is that is was designed to work with any of the Classic Connect car seats from Graco.

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco-02

The front seat has a multiposition incline that is great for sleepy little ones. It is made with machine washable seats and a sturdy metal frame. Clean ups are a breeze with this stroller. It also was designed to give comfort for both of your children.

RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco-03

The rear seat has a 3 point harness and a padded seat that is quite stable. The only real issue is that the front seat wasn’t really made for an infant, but it is easy to use and move around.  Read the full RoomFor2 Classic Connect by Graco review.  The Classic Connect model is the updated version of the discontinued Graco RoomFor2 Stand and Ride Stroller.

Bravo for 2 by Chico

Bravo for 2 by Chico-01

Chico is a big name brand for little ones on the market. It is very versatile and affordable when you stop and think about their brand you automatically think high quality. You know that you will get something that will make your life so much easier. This goes for this stroller as well. You can click your car seat on top, have them in the seat, and your other one sitting or standing in back. There is room for everyone for this sit and stand stroller.

Bravo for 2 by Chico-02

The car seat locks in place comfortably without any wiggle room on the top. It is made with a universal adapter which is great. It is also a bit smaller than the competitors which means you can move around in smaller areas so much easier. The price is also much more affordable if you have a smaller budget but are looking for quality. The back seat is recommended for children over the age of 2. The straps on the stroller are also super safe, which gives a strong hold when you are out. This a stroller that really gives you the most without having to take out a loan.

City Select LUX Double by Baby Jogger

City Select LUX Double by Baby Jogger-02

If you are looking for a stroller that converts into a sit and stand stroller, then this is the one to go with. The price is a bit higher than many parents want, depending on the budget you have. This is a super light stroller, easy to convert, and looks amazing. It has a lot of features that the price you pay for is easily justified. That is how great it is. The inside seat is super safe for a small child, and it is quite comfortable. There is plenty of padding which offers comfort and protection. That is what we all want for our children when we are jogging, walking, or just doing our daily outing. City Select LUX Double by Baby Jogger-01The back part can be pulled down to allow your older kid to sit down for a bit or stand on it, or you can just leave it up so that you don’t need to worry about using it if you don’t have to. It has 20 different configurations, so you can use it as a single, double or even triples. This is one of the most versatile strollers on the market and one of my favorites. You can easily convert it to a sit and stand just by attaching the glider board. It folds up small, which is weird for many jogging strollers. You can take it with you anywhere and you will have the right stroller for the job. It has shocks which makes it really smooth for your little one to ride in, especially if they are sleeping. I personally did not mind the high price, because it grew with my family.

Overall

A sit and stand stroller has just about anything a mom could ask for. They are price friendly, can grow with your family, designed to give you a great performance, and is comfortable for your little ones. If you are unsure about your budget, then check around to see what you can get for your price point. There are a lot of strollers out there, and these just work for various occasions. There is a stroller out there that will work for you. Many parents have no idea that a sit and stand stroller even exists. If you find one, you will see just how well it works with a growing family. In the end just pick one that works for your family and your little ones.

Best umbrella stroller

June 19, 2017 by Jo

Are you in the market for a basic stroller for taking the baby for a walk occasionally, or a stroller packed with features for use every day and in every situation? An umbrella stroller is a convenient product to have available but what is the best umbrella stroller for you? Umbrella strollers are nice for day trips into town, fun at a local festival, or for parents who want to get back into nature. They are great for managing little ones who prefer not to be held, or when your arms are tired. They are smaller, lighter, and more maneuverable than many standard or jogging strollers. This makes them especially convenient in crowded situations or smaller spaces such as the mall or town. An umbrella stroller can be the perfect solution for a low-stress outing. It’s a great option for a primary stroller or backup for parents who want to travel light. Even though umbrella strollers are great, you won’t find umbrella strollers as stylish as the Stokke Xplory.

Why buy an umbrella stroller?

These are the most common type of strollers that are out there. They are often called umbrella strollers and are made to fit in basically any small area that you need to put it in such as a closet, trunk, or even in an overhead bin on a plane. There are many parents out there that have found that they aren’t really that comfortable for children who are out on a day trip unlike the bigger models. There are plenty of people who enjoy the fact that it is great when you have to travel just about on any type of public transportation, your own transportation, or for a quick run to the corner store with your little one to pick up any item. Lightweight strollers are really handy for parents so we’ll help you choose the best lightweight stroller.

Not ideal for babies

The umbrella strollers are normally called that due to the hooked handles, which are best used as a second stroller. If you’re wanting something that you can use that is not only affordable but easy to take with you anywhere you go, then these are the best. They aren’t best for newborns or infants that still require neck and head support. Strollers like the Summer Infant 3D Lite Convenience stroller, which has different rest positions is great for infants as it gives neck and head support.  If you’re looking for a really great, light stroller that is also good for babies check out my Bugaboo Bee review.

Some key features

Many umbrella strollers will often be made from Aluminum frames which is what keeps it lightweight and easy to maneuver into small areas. Some will often come with either a fully reclining or semi-reclining seat which is great for various children and some have canopy that helps to keep the sun off of them. They are often have a 1 step fold, which works better than most higher priced strollers. The Mountain buggy nano stroller is a lightweight model that will really show you what comfortable really looks like for your child. It also has easy to use features such as locking swivel wheels and it is quite compact.

There are some features that are right for some babies while others may not work for them. If the stroller reclines fully, then it is safe for a newborn and infant, but if it only semi-reclines it is best for a child that is 4 to 6 months old and older.

When it comes to finding the right lightweight stroller or umbrella stroller, you should always look at the safety features that will help you to keep in mind what is best for your child as well as you and your lifestyle.

Things to Think About When Shopping for an Umbrella Stroller

I do the bulk of the shopping for my family and, while I enjoy shopping, it can be stressful to shop with a small child. Shopping around for the right stroller to minimize shopping stress is time-consuming. The first baby stroller I tried was an absolute disaster. I learned so much from that experience about what kind of features to look for, and what to pay attention. There are so many factors to think about such as to such brand, style, frame, and other qualities. I scoured the internet and asked for advice and suggestions from lots of moms. I compared styles and brands to determine the best stroller for my baby, and for me. I took it to such an extreme that my husband teased me about becoming a baby stroller expert. I spent hundred of hours gathering information! I wanted to pass along what I learned to help parents just like you find the perfect stroller for you and your family.

Before you go out and buy a stroller that may not suit your purposes, it will help first to decide exactly what you need. You might want a basic foldable model, or you might be interested in a more complex model filled with features. Regardless, there are certain factors you will want to consider to help you find the perfect umbrella stroller to fit your needs.

1. Weight

Whether you plan to use your stroller only occasionally or every day, you will want to look for one that is lightweight for easy portability, especially if you use public transportation. However, don’t look for the lightest stroller you can find, as lighter strollers are less sturdy and may be prone to breaking or tipping over. If you buy a stroller that is too light, you will not be able to hang a diaper bag on it, much less your shopping. This is important because it can be difficult to carry heavy items while pushing a stroller. Having a stroller that will accommodate your items, as well as your baby, allows you to have everything conveniently in one place so you can focus on your little one.

2. Dimensions

Unless you have unlimited storage space for a stroller both at home and in your car’s trunk, you’ll need to know whether your stroller will fit in the space available. The best way to make this determination is to know the dimensions.

3. Folding Mechanism

Folding strollers can be highly convenient or a huge hassle. Look for a stroller with an easy fold mechanism. Some of them can even be operated with one hand! You can fold and unfold the stroller without having to put baby down. If you’ve ever used a stroller with a complicated folding mechanism that requires both hands, you know how big of a hassle it is to fold and unfold the stroller in a location where there isn’t a good place to put baby down.

4. Construction Material

Ideally, you want to find a stroller made from aluminum or another metal. There are strollers that are made from plastic that are less expensive but are not likely to hold up, especially to daily use. You will also want to find a stroller with rubber wheels for stability.

5. Features

There are a number of other features you may be interested in for the ultimate in comfort and safety for your baby and convenience for you. A five-point harness that fastens with a secure buckle holds your baby securely in the seat. These features can offer peace of mind that more energetic children will not fall out, while rear brakes keep the stroller from rolling when you let go of it, such as if you stop for coffee. A canopy will protect your child from direct sunlight, and some strollers have canopies that are adjustable or removable, or are made with UV-absorbing fabric. Younger children may fall asleep while you’re out, and a stroller that reclines will allow your baby to rest in comfort. Finally, trays for you and your child offer a convenient place to put snacks, drinks, toys, or other items. Not all strollers will offer all of these features while some strollers offer additional features beyond these. Keep in mind that every added feature, while nice to have, will add both weight and cost to the stroller.

Umbrella Stroller Reviews – The top 5

So now it’s time to go over the best umbrella strollers in more detail. They have been rated on if they were easy to use, safe, easy to move around, size, and weight as well as the assembly. There are some that will be higher priced than others while some are going to be more basic for those who are on a budget.

#1 Summer Infant 3D Lite Convenience Stroller

When it comes to finding a great umbrella stroller, you are going to be pointed to the Summer Infant 3D Lite Convenience Stroller. Why? Simply because it is lightweight, works with all budgets, high weight limit, and a deep recline. That is exactly what parents are looking for when they are looking for an umbrella stroller. No one really wants to go out and spend hundreds on a travel system, just to have to go and buy another stroller that will work for their day to day commute on public transit systems.

Summer Infant 3D Lite Convenience Stroller

This stroller was designed just for that. It is perfect for those parents who are constantly on the go and are always running errands, going to parks, traveling on planes, and even just making a trip to the mall. This little stroller only weighs 12 pounds. You can just throw it in and go. Since it has such a deep recline, your little one can have that perfect little nap while you are out and about. The great part about this stroller, is it works with tall children. It fits up to 28 inches tall to the canopy. The stroller was made for infants 6 months or older to children up to 50 pounds.

Storage isn’t a problem because it has a cup holder, large basket, and even a storage pocket for your little items. It also has a great canopy that comes with a sun visor, tall handle bars, carry strap, front wheel suspension and best of all it is easy to fold. The website states it is a one hand fold, but I had to use my foot as well and was able to fold it up with my daughter in my arms. It folds up slightly smaller than the Chicco Echo so that’s a plus.

Summer Infant basket

This is my absolute favorite travel stroller. It has great features, especially for being such a compact and light stroller. It had the important stuff that I wanted such as storage, tall handle bars, high weight limit, deep recline, low carrying weight and a low price. The fact is that many would be expected to be paying on the upwards of $200 for this type of stroller, but this stroller is much cheaper. That is one thing that you certainly cannot pass up when it comes to having a great travel stroller.

Summer infant - recline position

Another great thing about this stroller is that it has a 5-point harness and it comes with a 1-year warranty from the original purchase date. Not to mention that it actually has 9 different colors to choose from: Newport Pink, Yellow, Citrus, Blue, Tangerine, Pink, Tropical Green, Black and lime. The frame stays silver. Luckily I was able to find a great umbrella stroller that came in a color that matched all my daughters baby items.

Summer Infant folded up

You can purchase this stroller just about anywhere, but I found the best deal on Amazon. It has a low price, plus free shipping and free returns with no worry about sales tax. This is certainly one stroller that I plan to keep in my baby arsenal for years to come. Check price at amazon

#2 UPPAbaby 2015 G-Luxe

Uppababy g-luxe umbrella stroller

The G-Luxe weighs only 14 pounds and may well be the most widely used umbrella stroller.

The newly released 2015 model has a stronger frame and replaces two brakes with just one. Of course, the new model costs a little more than previous models, making it comparable to some higher end models, such as the City Mini.

Check price at amazon

This model reclines nearly flat for maximum comfort for a sleeping baby, has a cup holder and a high-quality sunshade. The G-Luxe model by UPPAbaby can held up to years of heavy use.

The G-Luxe is not a budget stroller, but if you’re looking for a stroller that can hold up to heavy daily use, it’s worth it. If you’re on a budget and looking for something for less frequent use, a less expensive stroller may be better for you. If you’d like to know more read my review of the UPPAbaby G-Luxe.

#3 Chicco Echo

chicco echo

The Echo is a compact stroller from Chicco with more features than their Capri.

The first time that I noticed this stroller, I was at the park with my daughter and another parent had their little boy in it. My first thought about this stroller is that is was really modern looking. I loved the fact that the frame was actually colored and it was a really bright, fresh color. It was done in turquoise. It also had black on it and the color mixture made it look really sleek and stylish. So I went to talk to the parent and actually look at the stroller up close.

The Echo is a great lightweight umbrella stroller that is very simple, but it is actually affordable. It is priced at under $100, which makes it great for using when you are traveling. Take for instance, you plan to go visit relatives in another state, you are going to want something that is lightweight as well as compact that you can take with you on the plane, then in the car, then other places such as parks, restaurants, but you really do not want to spend a lot of money. Chicco Echo is a great choice. Plus, if it happens to get damaged while at the airport, which happens to me a lot when I am checking in, you will not really get upset, because you did not spend a lot of cash.

Check Price at Pish Posh Baby

Besides the great price, it has a really roomy seat that has plenty of headroom. It comes with an adjustable leg rest and tall handlebars as well as a medium sized basket. I am not saying that it is the greatest umbrella stroller out there, simply because there is little to no padding on the back of the seat, the canopy is small, there isn’t any peek a boo window, and it doesn’t really recline. Not to mention that is weighs around 17 pounds, which is a little heavy for such a basic stroller. Now those are things that I can really deal with, but when it comes to the wheels, they are really small and made of plastic and hard to push on rough surfaces. It is great for those who live in the city that has a lot of flat surfaces, this is a great stroller.

My favorite part about the stroller is the roomy seat. My little one has plenty of room to wiggle in and since it does recline a bit, she is able to take naps when on the go. There is a one hand recline lever, which allows you to recline easily if you are doing something else. I was a little iffy about the lack of padding on the back, because you can feel the support bar through the material, so I actually made a foam pillow to make it more comfortable for her. The canopy does have a really nice option for being unzipped to allow air circulation on those hot, muggy days.

It has a one year warranty and if you are constantly on the go like I am, this for the low price, it will work. You don’t have to worry about if it gets damaged, because it is that cheap.

#4 Maclaren Techno XT

McLaren Techno XT Umbrella Stroller Reviews

The Maclaren Techno weighs in at 14.2 lbs and has the convenience of an umbrella stroller with many of the features of a high-end luxury stroller. The thing about that is that the cost is far higher than your average umbrella stroller.

This model has shock-absorbing suspension for a smooth ride for the baby. It also has adjustable handles to make it easy and comfortable to push, even for taller parents. It also has an extendable canopy and flip-out UV visor to protect baby from the sun, a peek a boo panel, and a rain cover. For you, there are storage pockets for convenient storage.

maclaren techno xt side view with rain cover

The Techno reclines nearly flat for comfortable sleeping or newborn babies. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee, so you know it’s made to hold up to heavy use. If you’ve ever used your averaged umbrella stroller you would have noticed that they don’t hold up to wear and tear very well.

If you want a compact stroller that’s easy to lift yet still has luxury features, this is the stroller for you.

Recently, my friend was asking about if I could recommend any type of umbrella stroller. I have been through a lot of them and my honest opinion is you get what you pay for. I told her about my Maclaren Techno XT. This is a really popular stroller simply because it is so easy to move around and it really folds up small. It has hard rubber wheels, which means that you don’t have to deal with a flat tire and it has all wheel suspension, which gives your little one a nice comfortable ride even in the most torn up terrain out there. It has a narrow frame that allows it to be navigated in tight spaces such as in stores, elevators, and even between cars when you need to find your own car.

Check price at amazon

There is also a recline level that you can use with just one hand that has 4 different reclining positions that goes almost as flat as for a newborn. If your child is a bit on the tall side, no worries, this stroller has an adjustable canopy that will move up and down on the frame to give your child the head room it needs. When it comes to the canopy, this one is quite large and it even expands in the back to add more canopy for your child and there is also a pop out sun visor to give your little one extra coverage from the sun.

maclaren techno xt side view with sunshade

The seat is very roomy and was made for newborn infants all the way up to an older child to 55 pounds. Plus it has an extendable leg rest that lets your little one stretch their legs. Although there is not a travel system option, it does have an option for a carry cot for newborns that simply inserts into the seat but you have to buy that separately.

There is also a basket that fits a medium sized diaper bag without any issues. Plus there is a large pocket on the back of the seat for extra storage options for parents. It is awesome for things like your wallet, keys or even your phone. If you are pretty tall, then you are going to love the fact that the handlebars actually are adjustable which is super rare to find in an umbrella stroller. The fold of this stroller is very compact and easy to do. The best part is that you can actually fold it with just one hand. There is also a carrying strap that makes it easy to transport. It weighs about 15 pounds which is good for a sturdy umbrella stroller.

maclaren techno xt folded up

This is certainly everything you need and them some in an umbrella stroller. The really most important feature is that it is easy to move around as well as easy to fold. I have really found this stroller to be my favorite in my arsenal of baby items. The one issue I had was choking down the $400.

#5 Mountain Buggy 2013 Mini Stroller, Chili

Mountain Buggy Umbrella Stroller Review

If you’re looking for a lightweight stroller that you can maneuver through store aisles that’s also sturdy enough to stand up to a toddler and heavy shopping, you may be interested in the new Mountain Buggy Mini.

The New Zealand company has a solid reputation for strong strollers that can be used on any terrain, in town or off-road.

The Mini looks a lot like the Urban, with a light aluminum frame, a canvas seat in black/chili, and a Mountain Buggy kick plate. This model is stylish, streamlined, and smart.

The Mini weighs in at 8kg (about 17.6 lbs), so it’s a bit heavier than other models we reviewed. It is lighter and narrower than the Urban, but has full-size wheels with Aerotech tires for easy maneuverability, especially over rough terrain. Compared to many strollers, the smooth handling is a big difference, especially in areas without sidewalks or where sidewalks are in need of repair.

The First Years Ignite Stroller (discontinued by the manufacturer)

First Years Umbrella Stroller Review

This model is a lightweight 14 lbs and is one of the best budget strollers you can buy. It has a storage console to keep your phone and a drink in easy reach. With six inch wheels, this stroller folds up compact enough to easily fit in most trunks. It reclines (though not quite flat) for the inevitable snooze. For further information read my The First Years Ignite Stroller review.

Chicco Ct0.6 Capri Lightweight Stroller, Topazio (discontinued by the manufacturer)

Topazio Umbrella Stroller review

This model is a super lightweight 11 pounds and is a no frills stroller. The C6 (formerly known as the Capri) is one of the lightest umbrella strollers you can find. The included travel bag and cover make it ideal for flying.

This model has 2 recline positions, which does not lay quite flat. This is a great lightweight stroller for a very low price.

Best Stroller Travel System

May 24, 2017 by Jo

For a new parent, a travel system is a very common item. All parents are concerned about any danger that could happen when you are traveling with your baby. So, it doesn’t matter if you are traveling by car or just for a stroll in the park, there is always a chance of something happening. It is important for you to find the best travel system on the market that works for you and your baby.

First what is a travel system?

A travel system is a stroller that includes a rear facing car seat and a stroller. The seat can be easily detached and attached from the stroller which allow you to move your little one without having to take them out of the seat. These strollers are really popular for new parents who don’t want to disturb the sleep of their newborn.

There are a lot of travel systems out there and picking the right one can be tedious but it can also make traveling so much easier and safer for your little one. Picking a popular pram from a catalog could cause you to be unsatisfied with the purchase and give you buyers remorse which comes from rushing into the purchase, especially if you are a new parent.

With all this in mind, and a pretty demanding newborn to impress, below are some of the best travel systems available right now.

Nuna Mixx

I really love this stroller.  Check out my full review of the Nuna Mixx.

Bravo Trio Car Seat Stroller Combo by Chicco

If you are a first time parent, then you can’t go wrong with the Bravo. With it having just about every feature that the more expensive systems have, this one is quite impressive. This system is easy to use and it is super easy to fold up and put away with one hand, which with a newborn that is kind of important. It is also super lightweight, so you can move it around easily and have it work with just about situation that you are in. The one thing that it doesn’t do is that it doesn’t lay back flat at all, the leg rest is not adjustable and it can be a bit expensive. Other than that it is great.

EZ Ride 5 Travel System by Baby Trend

Right from the start this travel system is amazing. The box isn’t even heavy and I was able to move it around and pick it up with no issues. It is also easy to assemble, so if you don’t read the instructions, you are still going to be good to go. It takes about 5 minutes to be completed and you can take your little on a ride. Even when you are jogging, it is easy to maneuver. The base for the system has a handle bar that you can detach or attach the seat with ease. It has a great padded headrest with gave my newborn plenty of support and it was easy to clean. I did not like that front cup holder bar comes off and the build quality wasn’t what I expected.

Fast-Action Fold Jogger Baby Travel System by Graco

If you are like me, you are constantly on the go and this is an all-terrain stroller that my newborn loved. It has a lot of adjustment options, and the stroller combo is easy to adjust and easy to handle depending on what you need. It also comes with a newborn insert to hold your newborns head in place when you are out. Converting the system for a car seat is even easier that is leaves all my other strollers in the dust. The base straps connect to my LATCH system and just two clicks and I am done. The seat just slides into the base and its done. When you are in stroller mode, you will find the ride smooth and plus there is a lot of storage so you can carry everything that you need right under the seat. You don’t even have to worry about carrying your phone in your pocket, as there is a cell phone holder right in the handle. The only thing I didn’t like was that it is pretty big to handle on your own, but once you get the hang of it, it is a breeze, but this is the go to stroller for my guy.

Expedition Jogger by Baby Trend

This is a great jogger and car seat for your little one. Most parents, myself included, have settled for this system after trying our luck with other brands. It is the best baby travel system for the price. The whole system is lightweight, but it is sturdy enough to deal with whatever you throw at it. You can break it down easily and unfold it easily. Even if you have more than just 1 little one, you can do this system with just one hand. There are slots on top to hold your cups and your phone, if you have certain requirements. I often use one cup holder for my water and the other for little snacks for my little one. I love that it gives my little one a smooth ride, it has a uniform design all over and it is great for my outdoor activities. I do not like that I have issues taking the stroller from the base and after a lot of use, the front wheels will begin to wobble, but that is easily fixed.

Wrapping it up

It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned parent or a new parent, you cannot put enough thought into comfort and safety for your little one. Many new parents decide to purchase a stroller that can be used through the years with their little one. You should be on the road to finding the right type of travel system for your little one with the helpful information on the best systems on the market right now.

Basics of the Bubaboo Cameleon 3

Bugaboo is a dutch company with its headquarters in Amsterdam and it has offices all over the world. It was established in 1999 by designer Max Barenbrug and physician Eduard Zanen. The company moved to the USA in 2003 and it has been a real success story. Bugaboo strollers are some of the most sought after baby strollers on the market today.

The Bugaboo Cameleon 3 is just an amazing stroller. When you buy quality, you have to expect a higher price tag as can be seen with the latest price of the Cameleon 3. It is one of the most maneuverable strollers that you can buy. For a luxury stroller it is relatively lightweight. It is extremely well constructed and will take a lot of abuse. The Cameleon will last for the lifetime of your family and it is very adaptable. Like the UPPAbaby Vista, and iCandy Peach, this stroller can convert easily into a travel system and it is very easy to put a car seat onto the frame.

This has to be the easiest stroller to reverse the bassinet or seat. Instead of reversing the seat or bassinet, all you have to do is move the handle bar to the other side of the stroller and this can be done in a few seconds. This comes in very handy when you need to have the large wheels in front when traveling over soft ground like sand or snow. There have been many times when I've been at playgrounds and had to go over sand and while my friends have struggled pushing their strollers through the sand and while they're grunting and cursing under their breath I just reverse the handlebar and glide through. The stroller can also be converted into two wheel mode and this is ideal when you need to go to the beach as it is much easier to pull the stroller rather than pushing it.

Even though the stroller has great qualities, the real reason you buy it is for the style and the status. Stroller envy is real and you'll find out all about it if you buy this stroller.

Features in greater detail

Modular

A unique 3-in-1 design adapts to car seats, reversible bassinet and reversible seat.

Folding

Certainly the Cameleon folds into a compact size but it does have a major disadvantage here. It is not a one-hand operation and you also have to remove the seat. This is not a complicated process but it does slow you down when you are in a rush.

bugaboo-cameleon3-folded

Bassinet

Bugaboo Cameleon 3_3

The bassinet comes with a carry handle (removable). This is very handy if you are leaving the stroller frame in a hallway and want to bring the bassinet to another location.

Bugaboo Cameleon 3_1

When not in their parents’ arms, it’s best for infants to rest flat on their backs. On the chassis or the nursery floor, the Bugaboo bassinet with built in aerated seat inlay provides a safe, home-in-bed feeling wherever you go. The sunshade in the bassinet is outstanding and it will really protect your baby from the sun. It allows your newborn baby to lay totally flat and facing towards you. A zippered cover will protect the babies lower body and a canopy protects the head.

Seat

3 positions

The 3 positions

The seat is removed by pressing a large, square button on each side of the stroller. It is very easy to lift the seat and turn it 180°. It attaches securely every time with an audible “Clunk”. The seat has a 3-position recline. Unlike other strollers, this does not recline the back support, it reclines the whole seat and when fully reclined, your child will have no problem sleeping. The seat is also reversible so that baby can either face you or the world.

Wheels

The wheels are foam filled to protect against punctures. The suspension is adjustable and has four settings. This is more than adequate for all but the roughest ground. The swivel wheels can be locked but in the unlocked position they make the Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller very maneuverable.

  Bugaboo Cameleon 3_2

Handlebarreversible and hieight adjustable handlebar

The handlebar is reversible for use in the city or over rough terrain. Reversing the handlebar allows you to push the stroller in reverse. This is a handy feature to use when getting your child to face away from you. It is faster than removing the seat and turning it.

When in the reverse mode, the larger tires are at the front and this is great for soft ground or loose surfaces but it does make steering a little more difficult as the swivel wheels are now at the rear.

The parking brake is positioned on the handlebar and is easy to reach. Releasing the parking brake causes the brake handle to snap back quite fast so you need to be careful not to get your fingers hit by it. The handlebar on the Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller is height adjustable and can extend by 8 inches. It is not a push button system and requires you to adjust friction knobs on either side of the handlebar.

Big wheels forward

Cameleon 3 big wheels in front

Big wheels in front makes it easy to tackle difficult terrain

Reverse the handlebar to go with the tread covered, foam-filled, 12-inch wheels forward and master hiking trails, gravel paths, and other rough roads. The issue is that the steering wheels are now at the back which makes steering more difficult.

Two-wheel position

The Bugaboo Cameleon switches easily from four wheels to two so that you glide over sand or snow.

Adjustable suspension

Ideal wheel suspension based on the weight of the infant or toddler.

Alternatives to the Cameleon 3

All of the below options are much cheaper but have a similar style. I've had to split it up into alternatives for people from the USA, UK and Canada because not every stroller is available in every country and even if it is, the price can vary dramatically. In all of the below examples I've stuck to options that you'll save hundreds of dollars/pounds. If you're looking for a great deal on a new stroller check out my stroller deals page. As great as high end strollers are, sometimes you just need a lite weight stroller to get around in.  The Bugaboo Buffalo is popular also or you could try the Bugaboo Bee or check out my page on the The ultimate guide to the best umbrella strollers.

You could also try to purchase a used stroller.  Bugaboo have such good quality and most people who own them take good care of them so they should last a long time.  It's a much more affordable option.  Try the Bugaboo Frog because it's no longer in production.

Quinny Moodd Stroller

May 2, 2017 by Jo

Quinny Moodd_5

Company Description

Quinny is part of the Dorel group. Dorel is one of the largest juvenile products distributors in the world. Its products are well-recognized brands that have gained wide consumer acceptance for their high quality, safety and innovative designs that incorporate state-of-the-art features and up-to-date fashion.

Quinny has established itself as a world leader in baby stroller design. It uses modern construction techniques combined with ingenious design to make stylish and practical baby strollers for demanding parents and babies. One of these is the Quinny Buzz Stroller.

Basics

You have a choice of eight, vibrant colors. They look great. This is a beautiful and stylish stroller and at first glance it looks very much like the Quinny Buzz 3 due to the long, center stem from the frame that supports the front wheels. It incorporates the trademark, pneumatic Quinny Buzz folding system which makes folding and unfolding a breeze. As would be expected in any expensive stroller today, the seat is reversible.

Quinny Moodd_1

Quinny Moodd Features

Dimensions

  • Unfolded: 88long x 66 wide x 109 high 34.6 x 26 x 42.9
  • Folded (with wheels): 81 long x 66 wide x 31 high 31.9 x 26 x 12.2
  • Folded (without wheels): 68 x 59 x 16cm 26.8 x 23.2 x 6.3in

Weight

  • Frame with seat: 15.1kg 33.3lbs
  • Frame only: 9.4kg 20.7lbs
  • Seat only: 5.7kg 12.6lbs
  • Maximum child weight: 15kg 33lbs

We Like

  • Easy folding and unfolding
  • Very smooth ride
  • Reversible seat
  • One hand reclinable seat – 3 positions
  • Lockable front wheels
  • Adapters available for car seats
  • Easily adjusted/removed child safety bar
  • Easily removable fabric
  • Large 12″ rear wheels absorb bumps
  • 2 year warranty

We Don't Like

  • Seat footrest can be angled but has no height adjustment
  • Expensive
  • Very wide wheelbase
  • Bulky when folded
  • Small hood
  • Seat only rated to a child weighing up to 33lbs
  • Heavy frame makes lifting difficult for smaller mums
  • Very small shopping basket

Quinny Moodd Review

Maneuverability

This stroller is really maneuverable thanks to the front swivel wheels. The pneumatic rear tires make the ride smooth. It is easy to push and handles rougher pavements with ease. However the width was a problem. This stroller is too wide when going shopping and caused many problems. The width gives extra stability but for me it was just too wide. The adjustable handlebar certainly helps make it more comfortable for all height ranges.

Frame

The Moodd stroller frame is very similar to the Buzz frame. It has the familiar, sloping, central pillar that incorporates the pneumatic cylinder used for unfolding. The frame is available in either black or white. The frame is compatible with the Quinny Dreami bassinet, the Maxi Cosi Mico and the Prezi Infant car seat. Adapters for these are included.

Seat

The seat can be position to face forward or rearward. It has a three position recline regardless of which direction it is facing and the recline operation only requires one hand. It has a three point harness that has three different height adjustments for difference size babies, toddlers or children. There is a front “T” bar for younger children but this is easily removed when placing your baby in the seat. If you want to remove the “T” bar permanently, there is a blanking plate that will cover the opening in the seat frame. The “T” bar is for younger children but I think it really adds to the modern look of the stroller. In normal use, the “T” bar remains attached to the seat by an elastic hook to make it easier when lifting your baby into or out of the seat. Having the “T” bar in place really helps when lifting the seat off the stroller. The seat has a preformed cushion. The fabric can easily snap off or on and this make cleaning it easy. It can be washed in soapy water and hung dried. The seat frame has a gloss finish (like the wheels). This looks really neat but it scratches very easily and I found myself being overprotective of it as the scratches were extremely visible. The stroller comes with a baby cocoon that is used for newborn babies. This keeps your baby snug, warm and secure while the seat is in the fully reclined position. One of my gripes about the seat is that the footrest has virtually no height adjustment. It can be angled to two different positions but this is rather limiting. The retractable canopy is removable.

Folding

The folding system is derived from the Quinny Buzz . However folding is easier than the buzz as you do not have to push down as hard to compress the pneumatic cylinder. Folding can be achieved by standing behind the stroller (unlike the buzz). Just release the locking levers on each side of the handlebar and press down on the handlebar until you hear a click.

Quinny Moodd_2

The stroller can be folded with either the seat attached or the seat removed. A strap is provided to ensure the stroller stays folded but this proved unreliable if the seat was still attached. Unfolding is very easy and truly a one hand operation thanks to the stored energy in the pneumatic cylinder. The process is simple. And once unlocked, the stroller unfolds itself.

The Quinny Moodd stroller is quite large even when folded. I think that if you have a small car trunk, you will have to remove the wheels to make it fit and even then it may be a tight squeeze.

Handlebar

The handlebar is adjustable from 37.8 to 40.9 inches. It is foam covered and to adjust it is simply a matter of pressing a button and then pushing or pulling on the telescopic mechanism.

Wheels

The front wheels (7″) swivels and this makes it very maneuverable in urban areas. If you need to go over rougher terrain, the front wheels can be locked to make the stroller more stable. The rear wheels are large (12″) and are pneumatic which makes them a little smoother over rough surfaces. There is a pump that hides away in the basket should you ever need to inflate the tires. The wheel hubs are made from glossy plastic which looks great but they actually scratch very easily.

Quinny Moodd_4

Brakes

The brakes are foot operated. There is nothing complicated here and they work well.

Shopping Space

Due to the design of the frame, tall objects will not fit in the cargo area. The shopping basket was way too shallow and I did not feel that items were secure.

Quinny Moodd_5

Summary

This moodd reviews highlights some problems we found with our stroller but overall, we really liked the Moodd. The cargo area is a little too small and the wheel base was too wide (in my opinion). For me, it was very heavy to lift in and out of the car. This would not be a good stroller for anyone who regularly uses public transport. The stroller takes up too much room when folded. The 33lb weight limit seems very restrictive.

However the Moodd is very maneuverable and looks great. It is well constructed and easily converts to a transport system. Quinny have designed this stroller relatively well and it is finished to a very high standard. It is not complicated to use. The sleek design and fully automatic unfold mechanism make this stroller a pleasure to use. Your baby will be comfortable and it is easy to push. Overall this is a great stroller but you will either love it or hate it as the design will not appeal to everyone and the color range will also not appeal to everyone.
